his season sees the return of 2 of my favourite colours. Red is back and bigger than ever before this year, with all the premium designers and high street getting on board early. The other colour is black… which as we know – Never really goes away! The mixture of these colours is also going to be very prominent in checks, stripes and prints for everything from dresses to tees.
These two shades contrast beautifully well, and make for a bold statement this Autumn/Winter. Whilst a lot of items have gone dark to match the horrible weather and long nights, you can stand out from the crowd with a show stopping deep red or ripe cherry. You do not have to go over the top – one bold statement piece and matching accessory should suffice, and you can then tone down and add glamour with black shades.
The catwalks were full of this colour combination this year. DKNY, C.N.C, Donna Karan and Stella McCartney all got involved and were the real leaders of this trend. Our favourite look within the trend comes direct from these catwalk previews. Jeremy Scott produced an amazing red dress with black print detailing which he matched with black leggings/tights and then threw on the statement red heels. You can take it a step further with an amazing black clutch purse or over the shoulder bag. Perfect for a sexy and chic nighttime look all the way through the season. It can’t help but get you noticed!
